Krakow, Poland: Weekend Trip

Day 0: Arrive in Krakow

  • Take the bus from Krakow airport into the city
  • Honestly I couldn’t figure out how to buy a bus ticket. There is an app you will see the QR code for on the bus but it was all in Polish and I couldn’t figure out how to switch the language
  • The bus stop was a little hard to find leaving the airport Google maps wasn’t that accurate, it is about 200m to the right when you exit
  • Chill at B&B
  • Dinner at Morskie Oko (make a reservation or be prepared to wait in the line, one of the most famous restaurants in Krakow for traditional pierogis)
  • Before or after dinner can walk around Rynek Główny it is right nearby (2 min walk)

Day 1:

  • Breakfast at Gossip Cafe (Big portions, small place I think there is legit 3 tables in there)
  • Meeting point for pick up to go to Auschwitz Concentration camp tour is across the street at Radisson Blu
  • Auschwitz is about 1 hour drive each way, tour takes 3-4 hours
  • You go to Auschwitz 1 and Auschwitz 2 with a tour guide
  • No time to get something to eat so pack snacks and go to the bathroom during the break between 1 and 2
  • They drop you off where you got picked up (Radisson Blu)
  • Dinner at Czarna Kaczka, I got the traditional soup in a bread bowl was good

Day 2:

  • Quick coffee and croissant anywhere
  • Visit Wawel castle (free entry)
  • Walk along the water and see a hot air balloon if you are lucky
  • Go to Krak-Hügel for a cool view of the city
  • Travelled back to Germany
